Caz dunyasinin en onemli muzisyenlerinden Jimmy Cobb İki
gun once vefat etti. 91 yasindaydi ve yakin zamanda bir caz albumu bile cikarmisti. Calismaya devam ediyordu yani. O yuzden saglik problemi olacagi hic aklima gelmemisti. Akciger kanseriymis, ve tedavi masraflarini karsilayamayacak durumdaymis. Kardesi internette bagis toplamaya baslamis. Ne aci. Caz tarihinin en cok satan albumunde orkestrada yer alan, degerli ve ozgun bir muzigin gelisimine katkida bulunan bir insan hayatinin son gunlerinde saglik masraflarini karsilayamayacak hale gelmis. Mekani cennet olsun.

Caz hakettigi ilgiyi gormuyor maalesef. Hic unutmuyorum seneler once Viyana’da bir markete girmis iceride Art Farmer’i gormustum. Elinde alisveris torbasi ile kuyrukta odeme yapmak icin bekliyordu. Benim disinda da taniyan yoktu . Yanindan gecerken iyi gunler Bay Farmer dedigimde sasirmis , ve sonra gulumseyerek tesekkur ederim demisti.
Markette yeni yetme bir pop stari olsa etrafini saran 50 kisi olurdu ama, meshur bir caz muzisyenini taniyan bir kisi yoktu. Maalesef durum bu.

Bugun 15 yaşında bir Turk caz müzisyenini, piyanistini, paylasacagim. Hakan Basar ve orkestrasından, en sevdiğim caz eserlerinden biri "Poinciana". Genc kardeşimiz "On Top of the Roof" diye bir albüm de cikarmis.Tebrik ederim. :

Dusunsene, 20'li yıllarda doğmuşsun ve New York'ta oturuyorsun. Fena para kazanmıyorsun, gözün ve kulagin sürekli caz konserlerinde, aksam olsa da konsere gitsem diyorsun.Mesela, bu konsere bilet ayarlayıp gidiyorsun. Art Blakey baskaymis hakikaten. Yetenekli,genc caz müzisyenleri ile calismaktan büyük keyif alirmiş. Bu konserde orkestrada Lou Donaldson, Clifford Brown, Horace Silver, ve Curly Russell var. Birdland birinci bolum , "Split Kick":

Yine çok sevdiğim caz eserlerinden "Jeannine". Bir Duke Pearson bestesi, ve Donald Byrd orkestrası. Piyano'da Duke Pearson,trompet'te Donald Byrd, bariton saksafon'da Pepper Adams var. Kemerleri bağlayın derim :D :
